There are two charities that were close to Dad's heart. Firstly, The Nell Bank Centre in Ilkley which was built as a result of the fundraising from his Mayoral appeal in 1977. The centre is still going strong and follows his vision of providing escapes in the countryside for children from all walks of life. The daughter of one of Dad's closest friends lives at a Home Farm Trust and Dad has supported the charity for many years.
